Nun stolperte ich aber neulich \u00fcber <a href=\"https:\/\/www.newyorker.com\/culture\/listening-booth\/jamila-woods-legacylegacy-album-review\">dieses Audio-Feature<\/a> des New Yorker, das das neue Album <em>LEGACY! LEGACY!<\/em> von Jamila Woods bespricht:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>On\u00a0<span class=\"small_caps\">\u201cLegacy!,\u201d<\/span>\u00a0Woods is [\u2026] looking backward, putting herself in dialogue with a long line of predecessors\u2014from Betty Davis to Sonia Sanchez to Jean-Michel Basquiat\u2014by reanimating them through song. She treats these historical figures not as idols but as artists, for whom existing and creating were acts of subversion, personal salvation, and grace.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Wobei \u2013\u00a0<em>besprechen<\/em>\u00a0ist nicht das richtige Wort, es l\u00e4sst n\u00e4mlich vor allem die Musik der K\u00fcnstlerin f\u00fcr sich sprechen. Selten fand ich Audio in Textbeitr\u00e4gen so sinnvoll (oder <em>\u00fcberhaupt<\/em> sinnvoll) wie hier.<\/p>\n<p>Letzten Endes hat mich der Beitrag \u00fcber die K\u00fcnstlerin, die wie erw\u00e4hnt bisher unbemerkt an mir vorbei gezogen war, aber vor allem auf ihr Deb\u00fctalbum HEAVN von 2016 aufmerksam gemacht.
